So, about six weeks ago, I had the not so wonderful news of being diagnosed with diabetes. The diagnosis explained why I had been feeling so sluggish, tired, drained, etc, for about a year... maybe longer. I guess what made it shocking kind of was that I thought I knew all the signs of diabetes. My ex is type 1 and my step-father was type 2. That's why I was really surprised at myself for going such a long time and never realizing my blood sugar was high. And it wasn't like I didn't have the means in that year or ... You might say that being an author and in the public, this ... Read More about How to Handle Criticism

Naming Your Characters
It sounds rather simple, naming a character. But it's not always easy coming up with the perfect name for the imperfect character. So what's a writer to do? How does a writer decide what name to attach to a character, and why? Let's start with the obvious. Characters need names, just as real people do. When a baby is born, there is no way for the happy parents to really know what personality the child will develop as they grow. Even genetics won't give the full picture. So they decide on a name for the baby, and that's it. There are untold ... Read More about Naming Your Characters
So You Want to be an Author
You can be an author. Yes, you can. Think of an author, and the word that comes to mind is prestige. You can have that prestige. It's attainable. It's within your reach, your grasp. Reach for it. Becoming an author is not difficult, but it requires something we call commitment. Commitment to what, you ask? Commitment to yourself. You've got to make the commitment to yourself to do this, to do what you need to do to become an author. An author is not made without work, without time, without ... Making Your Characters Realistic
You've read them before, many times. Blah or boring, perfect and flawless, too good to be true, obviously fake characters. So what can you do to take a different path? To make your characters come to life, seem real, appeal to the reader's emotions? The answer is rather simple, though it often escapes the best of writers. To make your characters human and real, give them real emotions, real feelings. Ideas? Heartbreak, even death, is real. Try job loss, promotions, marriage, divorce, even the affair. Does your ... One way I make money online is by using affiliate advertising. This is how I explain what affiliate advertising is to those not familiar with it. Make Money Creating and Selling T-Shirts
One of the ways I make money working from home is by creating T-shirt designs and selling the T-shirts through print on demand (POD). T-shirts are one item that people will buy and buy and buy more of. T-shirts are popular. Why? Because a person can wear a T-shirt that says or shows just about anything you can think of. It's a way for the wearer to show or tell their thoughts and/or feelings, all worn for the world to see. And people want to world to know what they think about this or that. When they can find it on a T-shirt and wear it, ... Read More about Make Money Creating and Selling T-Shirts
